Jack Eugene Ekwall - Bedford
Jack Eugene Ekwall, 70, of Bedford, died at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his residence.
Born July 3, 1943 in Ottumwa, Iowa, he was the son of Arthur and Leona (Macaninch) Ekwall. He married Darlene Welter on June 10, 1966 and she survives. He was an electronics engineer at NWSC Crane for thirty-one years. He was an air force veteran stationed at Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu, HI.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene of Bedford; two brothers, Richard Ekwall of Farmington, NM and Jerry Ekwall of Cedar Rapids, IA; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dwight Runnells and James Ekwall.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday, March 14th at Day & Carter Mortuary and from Noon until the service on Wednesday, March 19th at the Wilson-Lentz Funeral Home in Livermore, Iowa. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm on Wednesday, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livermore, Iowa. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in Ottosen, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends consider donations be made to Darlene.
