Donald W. Allen - Bedford

Donald W. Allen, 85, of Bedford, passed away at 4:20 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Westview Nursing Home.

Born May 22, 1928 in Bedford, he was the son of Cletis Glenn Allen and Trella Virginia (Crawford) Allen.

He married Dolores J. Mosier on December 15, 1958; and she survives.

He was a graduate of Bedford High School, Class of 1947. He was the owner and operator of Interstate Highway Express, a school bus driver, and later worked as a custodian at Bedford North Lawrence High School and First Baptist Church for several years. He was a member of Englewood Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM, York Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite Temple, Valley of Indianapolis, American Legion Gillen Post #33, and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Dolores Allen; four daughters, Virginia (Jimmie) Atkins, of Newberry, SC, Elizabeth (Rick) Butterfield, of Bedford, Barbara (Gary) Mills, of Arlington, TX, and Patricia (Todd) Stephens, of Evansville, IN; nine grandchildren, Natalie, Michele, Jennifer, Nicholas, Katie, Nicole, Brittany, Grant, and Brynne; three great-grandchildren, Karsyn, Madison, and Cameron; one niece, Debbie Ikerd, of Bedford; one nephew, Darren Allen; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Howard and Marvin Allen; and one niece, Dana Pruett.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Englewood Baptist Church, with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Burial will be in Pinhook Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday, from 11a.m. until the service hour at 2 p.m. at the church. A Masonic Rites service will be held at 1 p.m.

Timothy Keith Flick - Bedford

Timothy Keith Flick, 57, of French Lick, passed away on Wednesday March 19, 2014 at 10:11 a.m. at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

He was born in Salem on December 25, 1956 to Ralph Abel and Minnie (Flick) Conrad. Timothy attended the Indiana School for the blind; he was baptized at Springs Valley Christian Church. Timothy was an expert in demolition; he tore down many buildings, and was featured on Louisville television and newspaper for his work, even though he was blind.

Survivors include his loving companion, his dog Skunkers; mother Minnie Conrad, of West Baden; tw brothers Stephen Conrad, of Franklin, Kentucky, Carlin Conrad, of French Lick, one sister Vicki Conrad, of French Lick; two nieces Laci Parcell, of New Albany and Hallie Wedding, of Owensboro, Kentucky

He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, Warren Conrad, who raised him.

Cremation was chosen.

Family and friends will gather at a later date to celebrate Timothy's life.

Cresthaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
