Robert Foster Edinger - Bedford
Robert Foster Edinger, 83, passed away surrounded by his loving family early Tuesday morning at his home on River Bluff Road, Bedford.
Robert was born March 13, 1930 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Edward Ferdinand and Gladys Marie (Rechel) Edinger. Robert and his parents moved to Bedford, and he graduated with the Class of 1948 from Bedford High School. After high school, Robert moved to Brooklyn, New York, where he did volunteer work at the headquarters of the Watchtower and Tract Society of the Jehovah's Witnesses. While in New York, he met his beloved wife, Marie Louise Maguire and they were married on Nov. 17, 1951.
Bro. Edinger was a longtime minister of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Bedford and Mitchell. Bro. Edinger also was owner and operator of Edward Edinger Stone Company of Bedford until its closing in 1995.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Louise Edinger, whom he was devoted in life for 62 years. A daughter Faith Marie Spicer and husband Ray of Bedford; a son, Robert Edinger of Bolivia; a grandson, David Dylan Edinger of Bolivia; a great grandson Raymond Foster Lee of Bedford and a great granddaughter, "His little life", Raven Elizabeth Lee, who would call him "Popie"; and they both would respond that they "loved each other too much".
Bro. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Melody Joy Prow in 2013,and a brother, Edward Edinger.
Because of Bro. Edinger's love of his family they knew there was nothing that he wouldn't do for them. He had a great love of the outdoors and camping. He took pride in telling people he was from 'the Limestone Capital of the World", and enjoyed surveying this capital in his yellow Model A coupe, more often that not, with family along to enjoy the drive. Most paramount in his life is his love of his Heavenly Father, Jehovah whose memory he is assuredly in.
Visitation for Bro. Edinger will be Friday at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home from the hours of 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral Rites will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Mitchell. There will be visitation at the Kingdom Hall on Saturday from 1 p.m. until service
