Otis Ritter - Bedford
Otis Ritter, 85, of Bedford, passed away at 5:36 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Arrangements are pending at Day & Carter Mortuary.
Roberta Kay "Bertie" Stotts - Bedford
Roberta Kay "Bertie" Stotts, 65, of Bedford, passed away at 11:21 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at IU Health Bloomington Hospice House.
Born March 17, 1947 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Verlin and Exxie (Bolton) George. She married Cecil E. Stotts on April 28, 1967 in Lawrence County and he preceded her in death on October 26, 2003. She was a graduate of Shawswick High School and earned an Associate Degree in Cardiac Training. She was a retired Unit Clerk Supervisor at Dunn Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Bethel Country Church and a member of the board. She was a past board member of Charity Chapel.
Survivors include her son Troy E. Stotts and wife Denise, of Fayetteville; her mother, Exxie Daugherty, of Bedford; half-sister, Darlene and half-brother, Verlin George, both of Ohio; her special friends pat Herzner and Mary Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her father, husband and daughter, Michelle Stotts on May 1, 1982.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with Sister Becky Ryan officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home.

Alan James Pershing - Bloomington
Alan James Pershing, 53, of Bloomington, passed away at 8 a.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at his home.
Born August 24, 1959 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Charles and Wanda (Hobson) Pershing. He was a painter at Baugh Enterprises and a peer counselor at Centerstone. He attended Fairview Methodist Church, was a member of the Central Indiana Bird Club and National Hobby Railroad Association. He enjoyed sculpting, jewelry making, model railroading, spending time with his birds and fishing.
Survivors include his father, Charles, of Bloomington; two sisters, Sheila Thompson and husband Jim, of Columbus; Gwendolyn Pershing, of Bloomington; one brother, C. Thomas Pershing and wife Dana, of Wetumpka, AL.; nieces and nephews, Jennie Thompson-Griffin and husband Greg, of Greensburg; Kevin Thompson and wife Ronelle, of Columbus; Michael Thompson and wife Emily, of Bismark, ND.; Sarah and Katherine Pershing, of Wetumpka, AL.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; maternal grandparents, Leathel and May Hobson; paternal grandparents, William and Catherine Pershing.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 15th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with John Le officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 14th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Elaine Heady - Bedford
Elaine Heady, 74, of Bedford, passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born December 13, 1937 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Archibald and Virginia (Calvin) McCallum. She married Harold Morris Heady and he survives. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for over 10 years.
Survivors include her husband of Bedford; a niece Debbie Hackett and husband Frank, of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 15th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday, October 15th at Day & Carter Mortuary.
