The following obituaries were received for Thursday -

Russell L. Kunkle - Oolitic

Russell L. Kunkle, 66, of Oolitic, passed away at 10:02 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at his home.

Born July 2, 1946 in Danville, Illinois, he was the son of Virgil and Ruth (Poling) Kunkle.

He married Brenda "Sue" Stark on July 18, 1965 and she survives. He graduated from Ridge Farm High School in Illinois in 1964. He was employed by General Motors, having worked in Danville, Ill., until the plant closed. He then relocated to the GM plant in Bedford, where he retired in 1999. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a very patriotic and proud American.

Survivors include his wife, Sue; one son Kirk and wife Angela Kunkle, of Oolitic; one daughter, Kyla and husband Shannon Brock, of Bedford; two sisters, Virginia and husband Claude Pratt, of Covington, In. and Mary Lou Collom, of Ridge Farm, Il; five grandchildren, Kian, Kristian, Konner Kunkle and Haley and Ethan Brock; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother-in-law, Dale Collom and a nephew, Kenneth Collom.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Pastor Aaron Levering officiating. Burial will be in Dive Cemetery, with military gravesite rites accorded by the American Legion Gillen Post 33.

Friends may call on Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
