The following obituaries were received for Wednesday -

Robert W. Howell - Shoals

Robert W. Howell, 69, of Shoals, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

He was born May 20, 1942 in Martin County to Edmund and Catherine (McBride) Howell. He was a retired coal miner and carpenter. He was a graduate of Shoals High School.

He is survived by four daughters, Pamela Baker, of Shoals, Robyn Maddox, of Lamar, Natasha Maddox, of Rockport, Amy Lagel, of Petersburg; two sons, Bradly Howell, of Montgomery, Robert "Bobby" Howell Jr., of Dubois; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, John and Larry Howell, of Shoals; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kevin and sister Gerri Nelson.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.

Burial will be in Waggoner's Chapel Cemetery. Graveside rites will be accorded by Shoals American Legion Post 61.

Brenda Lou George - East Oolitic

Brenda Lou George, 68, of East Oolitic, passed away at 10:12 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.

Born February 10, 1944 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Bill and Mary (Oliver) Canada. She married Kenneth George on December 18, 1986 and he survives. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband Kenneth, of East Oolitic; eleven children, Randy Shinos, Ramey Shinos, Steve Wright, Diane Fee, Kevin Wright, Christopher Wright, Angie Wright, Jenny Reynolds, Joey Wright, Rachel Morris, and Jessica George; three stepchildren, Troy George, Rhonda Parks and Judy Baugh; 38 grandchildren and one brother, Larry Canada.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 6th at Dive Christian Church with Johnny Johnson officiating. No calling hours are scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
