Patricia A. Endris - Bedford
Patricia A. Endris, 84, of Bedford, passed away at 7:23 a.m. Monday at the Johnson Christian Village in Bedford.
Born September 14, 1927 in Orleans, she was the daughter of Stanley and Avis (Fielder) Lewis. She married John L. "Jack" Endris on August 19, 1950 and he preceded her in death on December 8, 2004.
She was a high school educator having taught 42 years at Needmore, Shawswick, Bedford, and Bedford North Lawrence High School. She retired in 1993. She was a 1945 graduate of Bedford High School and obtained her bachelor and masters degrees in education from Indiana University. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she was active in the bell choir and served as a deaconess. She was on the Bedford Public Library Board. She was a member of many educational organizations and past sponsor of the Stone City Student at Bedford High School. She was chairwoman of the English department at both Bedford and BNL High Schools. She was an avid bowler and IU and Colts and BNL fan. A Pink Lady, loved mushroom hunting and euchre and enjoyed traveling. She was a great friend to everyone.
Surviving are one daughter, Jackie Robbins and her husband Kevin, of Bedford; one son, Mark Endris and his fiance Dawn Woods, of Bedford; two grandchildren, J.K. Robbins and his wife Brandi, Jessica Bunch, all of Bedford; four great grandchildren Grant Robbins and Ava, Addy and Audrey Bunch, of Bedford; four nieces, Liz McKenzie and Nancy Struck, of Bedford, Kelly Wingo, of Arizona and Cindy Tomes of Evansville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Mary Beth Dunihue and Linda Parsons.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church in Bedford, with Pastor Bob Dailey officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home and on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
Donations may be made in Patricia's memory to the Leukemia Society of America or to the First Christian Church.
