The following obituaries were received on Friday.
David L. Cox - Bedford
David L. Cox of Bedford passed away on Thursday, February 17th at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital at the age of 73. Born in 1937 in Martin County to Berlin Cox and Mary Pedigo, he had been married to Judy Crane for 25 years, was a truck driver and was of Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by four daughters, Crystal Rice, Shelby Schuck, Heidi Wagner and Billie Ann Whitis; one son, Greg Joyner; as well as four brothers, Joe, Ray, John and Paul Cox and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and sister. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, February 21st at Ferguson - Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow at Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until 2:00PM on Monday, February 21st at the funeral home.
Jeanette E. Gould - Mitchell
Jeanette E. Gould of Mitchell passed away on Thursday, February 17th at Mitchell Manor at the age of 99. Born in 1911 in Mitchell to John Leslie and Mabel Gainey, she had been married to Edward Gould since 1953, was in the clothing business and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Graveside services will be held at 1:30PM on Tuesday, February 22nd at Mitchell Cemetery with burial to follow in Mitchell Cemetery.
Betty Sipes - Bedford
Betty Sipes of Bedford passed away on Thursday, February 17th at Garden Villa at the age of 83. Born in 1927 in Bedford to William and Geneva Bailey, she had been married to Jack Sipes, was a telephone operator for Indiana Bell and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Indiana Bell Pioneers and Bell Ladies Luncheon Club. She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Fountain and her husband, Duane; one sister, Barbara Moore and her husband Ervin; as well as several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, John David and one daughter, Beverly Elaine. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, February 21st from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
