Gertrude Love - Mitchell
Gertrude Love of Mitchell passed away on Monday, February 14th at her residence at the age of 94. Born in 1916 in Russell County, Kentucky to Grover Cleveland and Effie Scott, she had been married to Arthur Love, was a legal secretary and was a member of the Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Pairlee Hoosier, Stella Bender and Odessa Wallace; as well as brothers, Lozier Scott, Norman Scott and Joseph Scott. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, February 18th at Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM on Thursday at Chastain Funeral Home.
Grace M. Vanest - Bedford
Grace M. Vanest of Bedford passed away on Tuesday, February 15th at her daughter's residence at the age of 81. Born in 1919 to Jesse Alexander and Mary Anne Alexander, she had been married to Rev. O. Lester Vanest since 1937. Grace was a cook at Rivervale Methodist Church Camp for 15 years, served at several United Methodist Churches, attended Dipper School and was a graduate of Columbus High School in the class of 1934. She is survived by two sons, Everett Vanest and his wife Joyce and Tom Vanest and his wife Kristin; one daughter, Marigrace Bennett and her husband Nick; as well as several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and one daughter, Wenda Griffin. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 18th at 1:00PM at the Erie United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Erie Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, February 17th at the funeral home.
