John W. Roell of Bedford, passed away Friday morning, December 25th at Bedford Regional Medical Center at the age of 84.
Born in 1925 in Indianapolis to parents Arthur and Lucille (Harris) Roell, he had been married to Christina Robinson since 1951, was retired as advertising director for the Tampa Tribune and Times in 1987, was a veteran for the US Navy, serving during WWII and was the president of International Newspaper Advertising & Marketing Executives (INAME).
He is survived by his wife; two sons, John L. Roell and David A. Roell and his wife Jolene and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Don and Bill Roell.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 30th at 3:00PM in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
Military rites will be accorded graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
Visitation will be from 1:00PM until the hour of service on Wednesday, December 30th at Day & Carter Mortuary.
