Jimmie L. Zeeks of Mitchell passed away Saturday evening at Bedford Regional Hospital at the age of 54.
Born in 1954 in Salem to parents Jack and Dorothy (Ely) Zeeks, Jimmie had been married to Myra L. Arnold since 1975 who survives him in death.
He was employed at Lehigh Cement Company for 32 years, owned and operated Jim's Satellite TV and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1972.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250, a member of the Marion Township Rural Fire Department for 31 years, a member of Indiana Volunteers Firefighters Association.
He is survived by his wife Myra Zeeks; daughter, Ashley Brooke and husband Michael; grandchildren, Eliza Claire Zeeks, Lillian Marie Zeeks, Connor Zeek Teague, Bryson Lee Zeeks and Miley Lynn Teague; brother, Jack Zeeks Jr. and his wife Carolyn; sister, Brenda McBride and her husband David.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1:00PM in the First Church of God with burial to follow in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Visitation is Tuesday from 2:00PM until 8:00PM and from 10:00AM Wednesday until the hour of service at First Church of God.
An IVFA Firefighters memorial service will be at 7:30PM Tuesday evening.
