Anthony Jordan of Bedford known to friends and family as A.J. passed away Tuesday evening at White River Lodge at the age of 72.
Born in 1936 in Kentucky to parents Dewey and Essie (Gamrbel) Jordan, Anthony was a laborer in steel mills in northern Indiana, attended Friendly Bible Church in Bedford and had been married to Beverly Martin since 1986.
He is survived by his wife; children, Ana Stevens and her husband Jerry E., Dewey W. Jordan and his wife Pam, Emily Jordan, Victor Jordan and his wife Sandra, Betty Brown and her husband James, Juanita Jordan; three step-children, Wendy Gaboian and her husband John, Scotty Wirick and fiancé Patricia, Danny Wirick and his wife Cindy; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; eleven brothers and sisters.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; a granddaughter, Christina Jordan; a niece, Angie Elkins; a father-in-law, Gathis Martin.
Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00AM from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and on Saturday from 10:00AM until the service at Day & Carter Mortuary.
