Robert Walter Brown Sr. of Bedford, known to friends and family as “Bob,” passed away Tuesday evening at Bedford Regional Medical Center at the age of 82.
Born in 1926 in Heltonville to Marshall and Maudie Brown, Bob was a purchasing agent at NSWC Crane, Army veteran of World War II and Korea, and member of Southland Church of Christ, and American Legion Gillen Post #33.
He is survived by his second wife, Geraldine, sons Robert II, Leslie and Jeff, daughters Sharon and Katie, sister Mildred, 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harold, Bill and Arthur, and sister Marjorie.
Services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00pm at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be tomorrow from 4:00 until 8:00pm at Ferguson-Lee.
