Wayne Pierce of Bedford passed away Wednesday morning at his home at the age of 91.
Born in 1917 in Lawrence County to Charles and Gladys Pierce, Wayne was a welder at General Motors, Army veteran of World War II, and member of Faith Mission Church and UAW Local 440.
He is survived by his son David, brothers Forrest, Kelsie and Ron, sister Shirley, 1 grandson, 2 great grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Gladys, son Wayne, brothers Dale and Harold and sister Frances.
Services will be held Monday morning at 10:00am at Faith Mission Church with burial to follow at Knott Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3:00 until 8:00pm Sunday at Day & Carter Mortuary and again from 9:30am until time of service Monday at the church.
