Obituaries For Vernon Haws, 85, Bedford

Vernon Haws of Bedford passed away Monday at his home at the age of 85 after being in ailing health since September.

Born in 1922 in Danville, Illinois to Lawrence and Viola Haws, Vernon was a self-employed auto body repairman in Lawrence County, Navy veteran of World War II, and member of the Pinhook Cemetery Association and Cedar Lodge #141 F & AM.

He is survived by his daughters Susan, Trudy, Nicola, and Raenel, sister Mildred, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret and sister Margaret.

Services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:00pm at the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow at Pinhook Cemetery.

Visitation will be tonight from 3:00 until 8:00pm at Day & Carter.
