Obituaries For Odell "Sharkey" Fleetwood, 92, Bedford

Odell Fleetwood of Bedford, known to friends and family as "Sharkey," passed away early yesterday morning at Bedford Regional Medical Center at the age of 92.

Born in 1915 in Jackson County to James and Isis Fleetwood, Sharkey was an Army veteran of World War II, retired supervisor at NSWC Crane, and member of the Free Methodist Church in Bedford, American Legion Gillen Post 33 and 50 year member of Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM.

He is survived by his niece Deborah, nephew John, one great niece and great nephew, and special friend Irene Piper.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, sister Norma and brothers John, James and Otis.

Services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be tomorrow from 11:00am until time of service at Day & Carter.
