7:53 p.m. Report of a disabled motorist at Ind. 37 and Fifth Street.

7 p.m. Report of a disabled motorist at U.S. 50 and Eastlake Drive.

6:51 p.m. Report of a disabled motorist at Ind. 37 and 16th Street.

6 p.m. Report of a disabled motorist at Ind. 37 and Ind. 158.

5:56 p.m. Report of harassment in the 1900 block of 11th Street.

5:33 p.m. Report of a disabled motorist at Ind. 37 and 39th Street.

4:47 p.m. Report of a suspicious person at Walmart.

4:42 p.m. Medical emergency in the 110 block of Forest Park Drive.

4:28 p.m. Report of a theft at Costume & Party Outlet on James Avenue.

1:21 p.m. 911 call reporting a vehicle fire in the 1300 block of L Street. Bedford Fire Department responded.

1:10 p.m. Report of a civil dispute in the 1700 block of L Street.

11:35 a.m. 911 call reporting a domestic fight at Park Place Apartments on Sixth Street.

11:20 p.m. Request for a welfare check in the 400 block of N Street.

8:49 a.m. Child custody dispute in the 2100 block of Norton Lane.

5:56 a.m. Report of a disabled motorist in the 150 block of Western Hills Avenue.

5:53 a.m. Medical emergency in the 100 block of Heltonville Road.

January 6

4:10 p.m. Gordon Hunt, 42, 2448 Mt. Pleasant Rd., wanted on three warrants for failure to appear and one for petition to revoke probation.

4:35 p.m. Misty Sanders, 40, Shoals, wanted on a warrant in Martin County for petition to revoke probation.

12:53 a.m. Medical emergency in the 6800 block of State Road Ind. 158.

12:02 a.m. Report of a domestic fight between a brother and sister at Maple Ridge Apartments.

12 a.m. Medical emergency in the 1500 block of Spencer Pike Road.

January 6

11:40 p.m. A woman in the 1800 block of State Road reported her dog was missing and asked if police see it while on patrol to call her.

11:22 p.m. Medical emergency in the 400 block of West Warren Street.

10:42 p.m. Request for officers to check on a dog without shelter in the 100 block of Stone Gate Court. The dog was fine and had shelter and straw.

10:22 p.m. 911 call reporting a medical emergency in the 1400 block of Beech Street.

9:11 p.m. 911 call from a screaming woman who needs help in the 500 block of Rabbitsville Road.

8:35 p.m. Report of a domestic fight in the 5200 block of Ind. 450 West. The woman reported her boyfriend had battered her at a home in Norman and then brought her home. The woman was given the number to the Jackson County Police Department.

7:20 p.m. A fire alarm was sounding at Valley Mission Church in the 100 block of Hillcrest Way. Marshall and Oolitic Volunteer Fire Department were alerted. There was no fire, but a massive water leak which triggered the alarm.

7:19 p.m. A woman was on station to report possible drug activity.

6:04 p.m. A woman in the 80 block of Liberty Street reported that a man who had just picked up his children was driving without insurance.

5:43 p.m. Report of a possible fire in the area of Maul Ridge Road. The caller reported seeing a large cloud of black smoke in the area. Indian Creek VFD was notified. Firefighters could not find a fire.

5:43 p.m. Report of a disabled motorist at Brisco Mobile Homes.

5:30 p.m. Report of a pony being attacked by a dog on Strunk Lane.

3:15 p.m. Report of a flue fire in the 4100 block of Fort Ritner Road. Shawswick and Guthrie VFDs responded.

12:29 p.m. Report of a fire in the 400 block of Peaceful Valley Road. Marion and Shawswick VFD responded. There was no fire.

12 p.m. Report of a theft from two unlocked vehicles in the 1100 block of Yockey Road.

11:04 p.m. Report of a suspicious vehicle parked at Fayetteville School. There was no problem it was the janitor.

11:03 a.m. Shawswick VFD firefighters assisted an elderly male in the 2200 block of Vinegar Hill Road turn his gas on to his home.

10:42 a.m. A resident in the 300 block of Old Farm Road reported a dog was at her home.

10:38 a.m. Report of a dog outside in a kennel in the 1600 block of Yockey Road with no food or water.

10:01 a.m. Request for a welfare check on an elderly male at Maple Leaf Apartment. The man needed medical treatment. The officer gave the man a ride to the doctors.

9:18 a.m. Report of a battery at the jail.

8:56 a.m. Report of a medical emergency in the 900 block of South Kenray Lake Road. Shawswick VFD and a Seals ambulance responded.

8:17 a.m. Report of a disabled motorist at Ind. 37 near the Avoca exit.

8:17 a.m. A man in the 1200 block of Stevens Lane reports he was battered by a female and she was refusing to leave the home. The woman was given a ride to Mitchell.

7:09 a.m. Report of a driver driving the wrong way on Ind. 37. The driver was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes.

5:50 a.m. Medical emergency in the 100 block of Heltonville Road West.

January 6

8:20 a.m. Car/deer accident on Port Williams and Kings Ridge roads.

8:20 a.m. Slide off Shawswick School Road.

6:56 a.m. Property damage accident with a vehicle leaving the scene in the 400 block of Ramsey Ridge Road. Someone had drove through a fence.

Mitchell Police Department
Incidents
January 6

9:06 a.m. Report of a medical emergency at Meadow Moor. An elderly man had fallen and was injured. Mitchell VFD and an I.U. Health Hospital ambulance responded.

10:05 a.m. An officer reported a silver Toyota SUV was traveling westbound on Ind. 60 East at a high rate of speed. The officer clocked the vehicle traveling at 82 miles per hour. A Mitchell officer spotted the vehicle traveling north on Ind. 37, but it was traveling too fast for the weather conditions for him to catch the driver.

11:03 a.m. Father Rick from St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church contacted police stating that anyone needing emergency house during the extreme cold to contact him. The church was being assisted by the Salvation Army and Red Cross.

2:25 p.m. Report of an open back door to a home in the 300 block of North 6th Street. The caller reported the home had been recently been broken into and items were taken. Police arrived. There was no problem and the home was secure.

3 p.m. Report of a semi-tractor trailer coming apart in the southbound lane of Ind. 37 and Main Street. The driver was able to pull the vehicle over and reconnect the two.

3:30 p.m. 911 call from a home in the 500 block of South Seventh Street with the caller hanging up. Police went to the location and no one would answer the door.

3:45 p.m. There will be no bus service or trash pick up on January 7 in Mitchell.

4 p.m. Mitchell Community Schools will be closed on January 7.

7 p.m. A resident at Persimmon Park Apartment requested to speak to an officer.

9:12 p.m. Lawrence County Dispatch called Mitchell Police reporting a 911 call from a woman screaming at a home in the 500 block of Rabbitsville Road. The dispatcher reported it sounded like a domestic fight and the caller hung up. When police arrived a male involved in the fight had left the home. Police searched the area of the man and found him. He was going to stay at a friends for the night.

11:24 p.m. Medical emergency at a home at Sixth and Warren streets. Mitchell VFD and a Seals ambulance responded.

January 7

1:10 a.m. A man in the 500 block of Ross Street reports someone had taken his dog, a brown boxer, from his garage. He believes a woman took the dog. Police located the woman on Kelly Street. The log does not state if the owner got the dog back.

January 6

5:30 p.m. Property damage accident on Ind. 37 and U.S. 60 at McDonalds.

7:46 p.m. Property damage accident in the 900 block of Teke Burton Drive.
