  • 11:30 p.m. Report of a suicidal male in the 320 block of Wade Street. The male called saying he wanted to kill himself.

  • 7:26 a.m. Lawrence County officers requested police to try and locate a person whose vehicle was found. The owner says they left the van in the 500 block of Vine Street and were getting it worked on. The owner says they left the keys in the vehicle and it must have been stolen sometime overnight.
  • 7:26 a.m. A resident at Persimmon Park Apartment reported someone had bused their car window
  • 9:31 a.m. Report of a gold Ford Taurus parked on the side of Burton's Flowers and has been there since early morning
  • 1:29 p.m. Request of a lift assist in the 200 block of North Sixth Street. Mitchell VFD responded
  • 3:54 p.m. A resident in the 200 block of North Sixth Street reported a female that has been harassing him is at his home again
  • 4:08 p.m. A man was on station to file a breaking and entering report
  • 4:19 p.m. Report of a black and white pug that looks malnourished at Main and 8th Street.
  • 5:04 p.m. Report of cattle out on Ind. 60 East
  • 5:28 p.m. Report of a driver texting and driving on North Sixth Street
  • 5:40 p.m. Request for a lift assist in the 200 block of North Sixth Street. A Seals ambulance and Mitchell VFD responded
  • 7:53 Report of a suspicious person on a front porch of a home in the 400 block of West Oak Street . The resident then called back saying now there was a large group of juveniles on the porch and one pushed her husband. One male fled on foot before police arrived. Police did take one juvenile to the sheriff's department to meet with probation
  • 10:26 p.m. An alarm was sounding at Superior Small Engine. Police did find a glass door on the east side broken
  • 10:28 p.m. An alarm was sounding at Dollar General. There was no issue
  • 10:33 p.m. A male at a home in the 300 block of Wade Street called police saying he was wanting to harm himself. A Seals ambulance and Mitchell VFD responded
  • 11:35 p.m. A resident on Marion Street reported she stepped outside and found three people in and around her vehicle. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.Police will make extra patrols.

  • 10:50 p.m. Bedford Police were looking for a male who was driving a burgundy and cream 1988 Yamaha Virgo with a license plate registered to a Harley Davidson. The male is wanted for questioning for criminal recklessness with a weapon and possibly in the Avoca area. The man is possible armed with a knife and police were to consider him armed and dangerous.

  • 10:14 a.m. A resident in the 940 block of Elkins Road reported a lady called saying she was taking a census and wanted to know how many guns they had in their home and that they would be at her house around noon. The caller was told to not talk to the person and call police immediately if they showed up at the home
  • 10:10 a.m. Report of a dog chasing vehicles at Kings Ridge and Huron Williams roads
  • 8:26 a.m. Report of a semi driver pulling a trailer with large limestone blocks weaving on Ind. 37 north from the river bridge

  • 7:50 a.m. Report of a large box filled with glass bottles in the middle of Mitchell Road
  • 7:39 a.m. Report of a possible intoxicated man walking down the side of the road and falling in the southbound lane of Avoca Eureka and Indian Church camp roads
  • 7:20 a.m. Cattle were out at Deer Run Road and Ind. 60 East
  • 5:09 a.m. Medical emergency in the 1990 block of Ind. 54 West. A woman was having kidney pain. An IU Health Hospital ambulance and Perry VFD responded
  • 4:46 a.m. Officers made extra patrols on Dixie Highway
  • 4:24 a.m. Domestic fight between two sisters. The one sister, who was driving, reported that her sister asked her to pull the vehicle over, which she did along U.S. 50 and Felknor Road. Her sister then began hitting her in the face several times and then ran from the vehicle into the woods. The sister then reported she had her sister back at the car. Officers spoke to both and then took the girls to Speedway to meet with the their mother. No charges were filed

Incidents - Aug. 23

  • 8:14 a.m. Report of a bike stolen from Northside Village. Police recovered the bike at 10:36 a.m. on Brook Street
  • 8:34 a.m. Domestic fight on the sidewalk in front of the Church of Christ
  • 10:15 a.m. Officers went to a home in the 200 block of Brook Street to pickup a juvenile on a juvenile court order. The juvenile fled the home when police arrived. Police had recovered a stolen bike from the home earlier.
  • 1:54 p.m. Fire alarm testing at Hatfield Elementary School
  • 3:14 p.m. A resident on West Oak Street reported someone had stolen their son's silver and red bike. The bike was found at 3:45 p.m. on Dale Street
  • 3:59 p.m. Report that a construction barrel was in the middle of the northbound lane of Ind. 37 near Arby's
  • 6:37 p.m. A man requested an officer after a disagreement between the caller and his brother in the parking lot of McDonald's. The caller reported his brother shot his semi with a BB gun breaking the windshield and damaging the vehicle
  • 6:47 p.m. A man was on station with items he found while mowing at 3rd Street and Mississippi Avenue. The items were a plastic toy and were thrown away
  • 7:20 p.m. Report of juveniles causing a disturbance at the Dollar Store. Officers stopped a male and female juvenile and spoke to them and then took them home and spoke to their parents
  • 7:41 p.m. A male reported he lost his wallet at or near Subway and if found to call him. At 7:55 p.m. the male found his wallet in the seat at Subway
  • 7:52 p.m. A woman on South 9th Street reported a male was harassing her over another female that lives at the home
  • 9:30 p.m. A man was on station about a problem he is having with a female
  • 10:09 p.m. A woman was on station to pick up her wallet
  • 11:19 p.m. Request for extra patrol in HelMar Addition. The caller reported the neighbor's motion light came on after being triggered by a male walking beside the house

A Lawrence County officer stopped the vehicle on Burton Lane and the female driver was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident

  • 2:40 a.m. A Lakeside Estates resident reported his daughter is at his home and is making threats to driver her vehicle through the residence if she can not stay there for the night. Police spoke to all parties involved
  • 11:59 a.m. A resident on East Vine Street reports her neighbor is in the yard yelling at her and her husband. She requested extra patrols
  • 12:09 p.m. Report of a woman driving without a license in an older white Ford on West Warren Street
  • 12:26 p.m. A resident on West Oak Street requested an officer saying her daughter was told to stay home and left anyway. The caller wants an officer to make her daughter come home

  • 9:54 p.m. A woman in the 300 block of Diana Street reported her daughter was out of control. A Seals ambulance responded and the female was taken to Bloomington Hospital
  • 10:31 p.m. Police were to be on the look out for a white compact car with front-end damage that left the scene of an accident. At 11:09 p.m. there was a report the vehicle had turned onto Woodville Road and was headed toward the railroad tracks. At 11:11 p.m. an officer was flagged down reporting the vehicle's license plate number. A Lawrence County officer has the vehicle stopped.
