  • 10:03 p.m. Criminal mischief in the 1020 block of Lafayette Avenue in Oolitic. A door had been pried open on a home, but nothing was missing, however seat covers were taken from a Jeep. Police will make extra patrols

  • 8:53 p.m. Medical emergency in the 1210 block of Elm Park Drive. A woman had fallen and needed a lift assist. A Seals ambulance and Mitchell VFD responded
  • 7:07 p.m. Lift assist needed in the 310 block of Popcorn Road after an elderly male had fallen. An IU Health Hospital ambulance and Perry VFD responded

Incidents - June 23

  • 1:12 a.m. A male juvenile just left the store (no location was on the log) and is a runaway from Terre Haute and left in a blue Jeep and ran the stoplight and almost caused an accident. Bedford Police were alerted
  • 4:09 a.m. A resident at Camelot Court requested an officer because of an item left hanging on the door of the apartment
  • 4:55 a.m. An officer noticed the rear door at the Mitchell High School was propped open. He walked through the building and found no problem and secured the building.
  • 2:50 p.m. Report of a male motorist in a green Chevy truck ran the stop sign on Seventh Street
  • 3:46 p.m. A male juvenile from South Second Street was on station reporting his mother has made him leave the home again and he will be at the library until his father comes home
  • 3:50 p.m. A woman from Camelot Courts was on station with the same complaint as yesterday about a person causing her problem
  • 5:02 p.m. A resident on North 9th Street requested to speak to an officer. A man who was wanted on a warrant was arrested
  • 5:06 p.m. Police were on Deckard Drive to serve an arrest warrant. The person was not there
  • 6:00 p.m. Report of an unwanted male at the apartment door of a woman who has filed a protective order against, but has not yet been served. The male was gone when police arrived
  • 11:19 p.m. Report of the sound of pounding on something in the area of Second Street. Police checked the area and could find no problem
  • 11:46 p.m. Medical emergency in the 700 block of Crawford Street. A man was suffering chest pains. A Seals ambulance and Mitchell VFD were alerted

Incidents - June 24

  • 12:25 a.m. Medical emergency in the 600 block of West Oak Street. A child was having a seizure. A Seals ambulance and Mitchell VFD responded. The mother transported the child to the hospital
  • 1:09 a.m. Police say the city park and pool were secure
  • 1:38 a.m. Police went to a home to serve a warrant for a wanted person, no location was listed on the log. The homeowner allowed police to do a walk through and the wanted person was not there
  • 3:09 a.m. Report of a possible breaking and entering at Elm Park and the person then hung up. There was no problem when police arrived
  • 3:30 a.m. Report that someone is trying to get into a building at Ind. 37 and Ind. 60. She says a male with a flashlight is beating on the doors and windows. Police were unable to find the male

  • 8:24 a.m. A resident in the 700 block of Warren Street reported they have parked a trailer in the 700 block of Warren Street to unload furniture. At 11:53 a.m. the caller reported they had moved the trailer
  • 12:12 p.m. A woman was on station to speak to an officer because her child's father is refusing to give her son back
  • 1:09 p.m. A woman from Camelot Courts was on station with information
  • 2:25 p.m. A resident in the 100 block of Warren Street requested an officer reference a seizure

  • 11:39 p.m. Report of someone inside an abandoned house in the 200 block of Frank Street. Police searched the home and found no one inside. The front door of the home was not secured and open when police arrived
  • 11:44 p.m. Report of a silver vehicle parked in the roadway on Meridian Street in front of Lehigh Cement. The caller then reported the silver blazer has moved to Steel Tech. It was an employee who had ran out of fuel

Mitchell Police Department

Incidents - June 16

  • 12:05 a.m. Police were out with a vehicle at the City Park. The driver was told to move on
  • 1:56 a.m. Guardian medical alert reported a medical emergency at Elm Park. No one would come to the door. Maintenance let a Seals ambulance crew and Mitchell VFD inside who and found a very sick elderly woman. The woman was taken to the hospital and the apartment was secured
  • 8:32 a.m. A resident in the 900 block of Oak Street reported their home had been egged sometime during the night. Police will make extra patrols
  • 10:54 a.m.Report of loud music at Compton's. The woman said she would turn down the music
  • 11:34 a.m. Report of an abandoned vehicle in the 900 block of Lawrence Street
  • 11:39 a.m. A resident in the 300 block of Frank Street reported a protective order violation
  • 12:28 p.m. Report of a broken telephone pole in the 100 block of Warren Street. Frontier was advised
  • 2:50 p.m. Report of a red vehicle on Ind. 37 north, partially in medium and on the highway. The vehicle was towed
  • 3:15 p.m. A woman on West Frank Street was on station to speak to an officer on a follow up investigation
  • 3:35 p.m. An officer went to Bedford Ford for a follow up investigation
  • 5:16 p.m. Officers went to a home on West Main Street to serve paperwork
  • 6:45 p.m. A woman requested an officer call her about an investigation
  • 7:02 p.m. Civil dispute on West Brook Street. A man was attempting to get into the home he owns and is having a problem with a woman there. The woman left the home
  • 8:08 p.m. A resident on Lawrence Street reported he found something and wanted an officer to meet with him to pick it up
  • 9:06 p.m. Police were at Spring Mill State Park on an investigation
  • 9:44 p.m. Police went to a home on West Warren Street to serve paperwork. No one was there
  • 10:05 p.m. An alarm sounded at Key Liquor Store. The building was secure
  • 10:20 p.m.Report of a woman walking into the wooded area on ind. 60 East and a man trying to follow her. The male is in a black Chevrolet and now had pulled into a driveway. Police said the woman lived a few doors down from the incident. Police say the two were in a verbal domestic fight. The woman went home and the male went for a drive
  • 11:00 p.m. Police report the city park was secure

Incidents - June 17

  • 3:51 a.m. A motorist reported he hit a cat, just north of Ind. 60 on South Ninth Street and is not sure if the cat is dead
