7 p.m. A female motorist who was at Bartlettsville Road and Star Boulevard reported a man in a silver truck was upset with her not letting him go in front of him at BNL and was now knocking on her window. When he saw her on the phone he left

5:13 p.m. Domestic fight over child custody at Johnny's Junction

5:07 p.m. A resident in the 4200 block of Peerless Road reported that someone had let their animals out of the fence and that there were footprints all over the area. Officers will make extra patrols

3:56 p.m. Report that a man driving a van had just ran into a large snow pile on Ind. 37 south of Speedway. Police were unable to locate the vehicle

3:46 p.m. Request for a welfare check at a home in the 3900 block of South Leatherwood Road that has no heat or water in the home and there are children there. Officers checked the home and found it was being heated with space heaters and the water pipes had frozen, but the family had bottled water. They also learned that there was a custody dispute between the resident and caller. Department of Child Services have been to the home and are involved

3:30 p.m. Report of a man driving a Pontiac Bonneville southbound on Ind. 37 from Avoca and the caller believes he keeps falling asleep. Police could not locate the vehicle

2:12 a.m. A woman called 911 to report she had just picked up her juvenile niece on Dean Street, who had been battered by a male. They were driving around the city afraid that the male who was in an older model black 2-door Chevy Blazer would try and hit their vehicle with his. They were told to come to the police station. Police attempted to find the man. Officers found the man at 2:37 a.m. and he was taken to the police station. A Seals ambulance was called to check the wounds on the man's hand. The man was arrested

6:36 a.m. Someone had left their Chevy Cavalier in the parking lot of AKKA Plastics and it was blocking the area where semi's come in. The vehicle was towed

2:40 p.m. A resident reported telephone harassment and they were receiving threats

3:23 p.m. Medical emergency at Camelot Courts. An elderly female was having trouble breathing. A Seals ambulance and Mitchell VFD responded

5:55 p.m. A resident on HelMar Drive reported slippery and slushy conditions on the roadway. The street department was contacted

8:13 p.m. Request for a welfare check at a resident in the 400 block of Seventh Street. Everyone was okay

10:49 p.m. Report of a suspicious vehicle white truck parked at Penny's Discount Tobacco on North Eighth Street. The driver was shining their headlights into the drive-thru window. The driver told police the drive shaft had went out of his truck and he would get the vehicle in the morning and will telephone the business in the morning

10:13 a.m. A person locked their keys in a vehicle at Arby's. Police unlocked the vehicle

11:56 a.m. An resident reported her husband who has dementia has left home with their grandchild and she was able to talk him into stopping at Arbys in Mitchell. The man is in a red Saturn SUV with a handicapped plate. Another male and her nephew are driving to Mitchell to get him. She asked if officers could detain him until they arrive. Officers located the man who said he was waiting on his wife to come and get him.

2:36 p.m. A resident in Walker Addition was suffering from extreme hypertension. An IU Health Hospital ambulance and Mitchell VFD responded

6:01 p.m. A resident on South First Street reports they have been missing their 8-week old puppy for two days. The puppy looks like a miniature doberman

6:11 p.m. A West Oak Street resident was back on station about a stolen license plate. She is now reporting the man that bought her vehicle and used her plate to get home. But the man wanted to return the vehicle and she refused and now he will not give her back her plate. The woman was wanting a copy of the police log so she could take it to the license branch and cancel the plate

6:55 p.m. A resident on West Brook Street reported a traffic problem due to snow piled up causing only one lane of traffic. Police found no problem

11:10 p.m. A resident in the 100 block of North Sixth Street reports the residents in the upstairs apartment was playing loud music. While on the phone with police the residents turned down the music

11:34 p.m. Report of a person in the 200 block of East Frank Street reported their neighbor was outside being loud, yelling cursing. The subjects left in a small vehicle. Police will make extra patrols

11:40 p.m. A man and woman were on statin to speak to an officer about a battery. Then at 12:45 a.m. two female were on station to report harassment

12:12 a.m. A resident in the 200 block of North Sixth Street reported the theft of mail including a package with a cell phone taken off her front porch. When she got home she found the empty box on her porch

11:50 a.m. A resident in the 900 block of Tulip Street reported there was a small white dog with a bandana around its neck was in her yard and it is very aggressive when she attempted to get it out from under her truck and feed it.

11:51 a.m. Report of a fight at Ind. 37 and Ind. 60 West. Those involved did not want to file charges

1:34 p.m. A resident in the 400 block of West Hancock Avenue reported someone had taken a sharpened pencil and stuck it into a socket and it caught fire and now fire was coming out of the wall. Mitchell VFD responded. Firefighters say the breakers were tripped and turned off the power until an electrician could check out the problem

3:20 p.m. A resident asked the street department if they would clear the park and pool parking lot so parents can park to pick up their children after school.

4:16 p.m. A resident at Doc Hamilton Boulevard at Walker Addition reported children were sledding down the hill and also being pulled behind a vehicle on an inner tube down the road. The juveniles and driver were advised

4:21 p.m. A male juvenile was on station with his parent to talk to an officer

4:58 p.m. A resident on West Warren Street reported they saw on Facebook about a dog near the laundry mat in Mitchell not being cared for and had no shelter and knows someone in Orleans that will take the dog. Police checked on the dog and the owner reported the dog is kept outside during the day and brought in at night and the dog does have food, water and shelter. Police checked on the dog and it was okay. Police received several other calls about the dog and checked again and the dog was okay. The owner contacted police after they saw a post on Facebook saying someone was going to come and cut the lock and take the dog.

5:13 p.m. A resident on West Vine Street requested the water be turned off because of a leak.

6:24 p.m. The street department picked up a small dog near the street department in case someone calls reporting it missing.

6:39 p.m. A resident on North Crandall Street reported dogs had chased her and her boyfriend when out walking their dog last night and wants something done about it. The people went to the police station to give a statement. The owners of the dogs were contacted and will bring the dog's vet records tomorrow.

6:47 p.m. A resident on West Oak Street was on station about a vehicle sold to a man in Ellettsville at Johnny's Junction. The male used her plate to get the vehicle home and then called and wanted to bring the vehicle back and get his money back, but she refused and now he will not return the license plate.

9:21 p.m. Report of a gas odor at Foam Craft. Mitchell VFD and Vectren Gas were alerted.

12:28 a.m. A resident in the 100 block West Frank Street reporte a man was walked into the neighbors living room and then walked out. He then walked onto her front porch. Caller did find footprints in the snow near the front window of the neighbors and could hear snow crunching, the believe the male was still in the area.
