Arrests - Sept. 22

  • 8:03 p.m. Nicholas Beyers, 33, 2328 Beaver Creek Rd., wanted on a warrant for failure to appear, cited for driving while driver's license suspended.

Incidents - Sept. 22

  • 4:25 a.m. A woman was on station to report that she just followed a man and woman from the American Legion who had broke into her home and stolen items. All of the people involved were outside of the station in a verbal fight. The woman was told to go home and wait for an officer while the officer spoke to the other parties involved. There were no stolen items in their vehicle. Police went to the American Legion to attempt to find the items
  • 5:53 a.m. Report of loud music in the 200 block of Grissom Avenue. The music is so loud it is rattling the windows in her home
  • 9:34 a.m. A resident in the 300 block of Oak Street reported her two teenage daughters have left and won't come home
  • 1:51 p.m. Report of an aggressive pit bull loose again in the 100 block of Main Street
  • 2:40 p.m. A woman in the 300 block of Oak Street, who reported her two juvenile daughters as runaways says they just showed up at home and she requested an officer. Police contacted probation. The two teens were arrested and taken to the police station and then were taken to the Lawrence County Police Dept.
  • 2:56 p.m. A woman in the 200 block of Second Street was on station about items stolen from her and has found out where the stolen items have been taken
  • 3:23 p.m. A resident on Old Ind. 60 West reported two dogs were running around hr yard and one was an aggressive pit bull
  • 6:30 p.m. Report of a possible intoxicated driver traveling southbound on Ind. 37
  • 7:05 p.m. Domestic fight in the 600 block of Warren Street. The caller reported they could hear glassing breaking and things being thrown around. A Seals ambulance and Mitchell VFD responded. The woman had suffered self inflicted wounds, but refused treatment
  • 8:06 p.m. Fight behind Mitchell Fitness Center. Those involved were gone when police arrived
  • 8:51 p.m. Group of boys fighting on Seventh Street and chasing another boy towards the stage area. Now the fight has moved to the Mitchell Fitness Center all parties were running towards the tents.
  • 10:04 p.m. Report of a man waving his arms and attempting to flag down motorist on Rabbitsville Road. The man has a cut on his head. The man had went home. His parents called police and reported the man has mental issues and is off his medication
  • 10:29 p.m. A woman was on station about a battery
  • 11:47 p.m. Report of a man setting in the drive-thru at McDonalds and the employees can't get him awake they don't know if he is breathing. A Seals ambulance and Mitchell VFD responded. The man was awake and told police he had been driving for 12 hours and stopped and fell asleep. He is waiting for his wife to come and pick him up

  • 1:20 a.m. Report of a suspicious man walking around Mitchell Manor. Police were unable to locate the man

  • 10:07 p.m. A woman reported that her boyfriend had thrown her out and would not give her items needed for their newborn at 16th and Hardee's. Police went to a home in the first block of Maddox Lane and the man was arrested on a battery affidavit
  • 10:04 p.m. A woman in the 1800 block of O Street requested an officer's escort so she can leave safely from the apartment because her husband had thrown a bottle at her
  • 10:45 p.m. Disabled vehicle on Ind. 37 at the Avoca light
  • 8:24 p.m. Report of juveniles riding through a yard in the 330 block of Mundell Estates. The landowner asked the juveniles to stop and they go mouthy and continued to ride through the yard. Police spoke to all parties involved

  • 11:01 a.m. An alarm was sounding at Hoosier Hills Credit Union
  • 2:15 p.m. A male was on station requesting assistance getting items from a residence
  • 2:29 p.m. Report of a driver in a van drove off without paying for gas at Terry's Station
  • 4:32 p.m. A woman was on station about a man harassing her
  • 5:57 p.m. A woman at Camelot Courts requested to speak to an officer about possible drug activity
  • 6:20 p.m. A woman was on station to give statement on a follow up investigation
  • 6:24 p.m. A female reported another female was harassing her and her boyfriend on Main Street at the library. The juvenile female was located who was causing the problems and a family member came and took her home
  • 6:29 A resident on Diane Street reported someone had given her son a blue bike and she doesn't want it at her house
  • 11:07 p.m. Request to remove people from the park at Seventh and Main streets. Police say the people left the park without a problem and they were advised about the park hours
  • 11:31 p.m. Report of a group of people walking south on Third Street making a lot of noise and the caller was concerned about what they are up to. The group was told to keep the noise down
  • 11:28 p.m. Report of two missing 13-year-old girls at the Persimmon Festival. A man reported the girls were to met him at the festival and they never showed up. The juveniles were located at Persimmon Park Apartments

  • 8:20 p.m. Report of a couple of people attempting to break into the back door of an abandoned home in the 500 block of South Sixth Street
  • 6:46 p.m. A woman reported her 2000 green Ford Focus was stolen from the Mitchell Inn. The woman came on station to file a report. Then at 10:32 p.m. she reported her vehicle had been returned to the motel. Police went to speak to the male that took the vehicle and he would not answer the door. A woman was arrested and then while handcuffed fled north from the motel. She was wearing gray sweatshirt and pajama pants. The woman was wanted on a civil warrant in Montgomery County and they will not extradite the woman
  • 4:22 p.m. Report of child abuse in the 100 block of Dale Street. The caller reported witnessing a 2-year-old male abused by his father. The caller also reported the mother was under the influence of possible drugs and was tearing things up in the house and is being verbally abusive. Police found no problem
  • 3:41 p.m. Report of a domestic fight in the 100 block of Rager Road. A male left the home
  • 3:19 p.m. Report of a disabled vehicle at Ind. 37 and Main Street in the middle of the intersection. Police were unable to find a vehicle broken down
