Woman Facing Drug, Alcohol Charges
(BLOOMFIELD, IN) - A Bloomington woman was arrested following a highway car wreck.
23-year-old Cristan Stankiewicz was reportedly traveling on State Road 54 and County Road 375 East in the early morning hours of Tuesday, when her vehicle struck a slick spot on the highway and became out of control.
The car then struck a ditch and culvert before coming to rest in the middle of State Road 54.
When the wreck occurred police officials were already searching for Stankiewicz at the time.
Police say that the woman had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and admitted to drinking.
During an investigation at the scene, police discovered that the vehicle Stankiewicz was driving had been reported stolen out of Monroe County; the woman was also found to be in possession of marijuana.
Stankiewicz has been arrested on several preliminary charges.
