Northeast Indiana Not Forgotten In Federal Spending Bill
(UNDATED) - Northeast Indiana is not forgotten in a just-passed federal spending bill.
The $447 billion dollar plan passed the house of representatives on strict party lines.
Indiana Congressman Mark Souder voted against the bill, though it contains funding he sought for ten regional projects.
Souder says he voted against the bill because it's too expensive and it contained abortion-related language he opposed.
Among other area projects being funded are a new sewer system for Syracuse, expansion of programs at Grace College and theological seminary, the widening of Indiana 205 in Columbia City and expansion of the American Red Cross Operations Center.
