(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Bloomington fire crews were called to the scene of fully engulfed office building at around 6:20PM Wednesday evening.

According to Bloomington Fire Chief Roger Kerr, the Eastplex office building at 4601 E. Morningside Drive just north of East Third Street in Bloomington had flames shooting from the roof of the building at the time of their arrival.

At around 10:30PM Wednesday night, after nearly four hours of battling the flames, Kerr said that he felt "pretty confident that everyone was out" of the building safely, although firefighters still needed to investigate.

At one point during the battle, fire crews were reportedly spraying around 5,000 gallons of water per minute onto the blazing building which is now being described as a near total loss due to severe fire damage to the roof and second floor, as well as water damage to the first and second floor.

In the end, none of the 35 firefighters fighting the flames were reported injured.

Fire officials are still working to find the cause of the blaze; fire struck another building a few blocks up the street about a week ago.
