Business Bureau Warning Of Online Shopping Scams
(UNDATED) - As shoppers get ready to surf for bargains, there may be some sharks in the water.
Central Indiana Better Business Bureau President Bill Thomas says shopping online is fine, as long as you know who you're dealing with.
If it's not an established e-tailer like Amazon, you have your homework cut-out for you.
One critical piece of information to look for is a physical address for the company, so you know where to go if something goes wrong.
The BBB reminds you not to click on links in unsolicited email, spoofing the web address of a reliable e-tailer is a favorite trick of scammers.
And Thomas says to read the fine print on sales, ads and coupons to make sure you know what restrictions there are.
