After School Activities Canceled, H1N1 To Blame
(MITCHELL, IN) - Mitchell Community Schools recently announced the closing of most of its after school programs and activities.
According to a letter sent out to parents, for the last five days Mitchell schools have averaged an absence of 245 students or 15%.
The school system, which is on fall break, has canceled all after school activities and programs with an exception of sport events due to the illnesses.
All after school activities in December will be evaluated at the end of November.
School officials have scheduled a free H1N1 vaccination clinic for students.
The vaccine clinic will be on November 5th and 17th from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Burris Elementary School.
