Indiana Fallen Officer Blood Drive
(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Fire Department is holding the Indiana Fallen Officer Blood Drive today.
The drive began earlier this afternoon at 2:00 PM and it will continue until 7:00 PM tonight.
The drive will benefit the Indiana Fallen Officers Organization which is in its third year.
The Bedford Fire Department is one of 120 locations where fallen officers are honored. WTHR reports the blood drive started in 2001 in Morgan County by Janice Starnes, whose husband Sgt. Dan Starnes needed more than 50 units of blood after he was shot five times on duty.
You can still donate blood this evening until 7:00 PM at the Bedford Fire Department at 1900 H Street.
