(BEDFORD) - If you live or drive in the Bedford area especially downtown, you’re probably wondering by now when exactly all of the road construction madness will stop.

The work began last Tuesday (June 16, 2009) and is being funded as part of the same stimulus plan as the rebuilding of the recent sidewalk corners.

Jerry Daugherty with Dave O'mara Contractors of North Vernon says that road construction on the Bedford square will end by tomorrow (June 25, 2009), but more work will start from the square on 16th street all the way to highway 37.

The roadways are being resurfaced due to so many cracks in the pavement before.

To resurface the roads the contractors used a special machine that uses a rotating metal brush to literally scrape off the existing pavement.
