French Lick Teen Killed In Traffic Accident
(FRENCH LICK) - A teenager lost his life in a traffic accident yesterday in French Lick.
According to an Orange County Sheriff's Department report 13 year old Zachary Beyers was traveling on Wells Avenue on his 2008 scooter when for an unknown reason he lost control of his scooter.
Beyers laid the scooter down on its right side and slid into oncoming traffic, Beyers and the scooter were then struck by the rear wheel of a dump truck.
During the accident Beyers suffered injuries which proved to be fatal, although members of the French Lick Fire Department and EMT'S from Bloomington Hospital of Orange County worked to save him.
David Beck of French Lick was the driver of the dump truck and wasn't injured in the accident, and the investigation is ongoing.
