FEMA Assistance Available To Those Affected By March Storms
(INDIANAPOLIS) - Free legal advice and referrals are available for anyone affected by the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding from March 8-14.
To be eligible for the legal assistance, individuals must live in one of the 16 counties designated for FEMA individual assistance programs, and need legal assistance as a direct result of the severe storms and flooding.
Lawrence County is part of this list due in part to the tornadoes and severe storms that went through the area on March 8th, that destroyed houses in the Fayetteville area.
Those who are in need of assistance can call the Indiana State Bar Assosciaton at 1- 800-266-2581, Monday thru Friday from 8:30 AM To 4:30 PM.
All messages will be responded to within 24 hours.
The ISBA will refer flood victims to Indiana attorney volunteers for free legal information regarding matters such as insurance claims, replacing legal documents, home repair contracts and problems with landlords.
