US, Chinese Business Leaders Meeting At IU
(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University’s three day conference on US and China business cooperation opened Wednesday in Indianapolis.
The meeting of scholars and business people is designed to help entrepreneurs and promote the prosperity of both countries.
Scott Kennedy, the Director of IU's Research Center for Chinese Politics and Business, says it's a chance to learn about successful entrepreneurships in both countries and to search for greater business cooperation.
He says the conference's mix of scholars, government officials and business people is designed to produce an unvarnished view of the economic partnership, exposing obstacles that are preventing better cooperation.
Indiana's sixth largest export market is China and Kennedy says the global recession is a good time to look for more economic opportunities there.
The conference location shifts to IU's Bloomington campus on Thursday for the remaining two days of meetings.
