(BEDFORD) - Drugs are possibly being blamed in an accident that caused injuries Saturday afternoon along IN-58.

Bedford police reports say BPD Major Brian Turpen witnessed a head-on accident on IN-58 near Riley Blvd. in which a car driven by 42-year-old Michelle Pemberton crossed the centerline striking a car driven by 16-year-old Hannah Bartlett of Heltonville head-on.

Bartlett complained of pain to her arm which officials say was from a fracture.

Pemberton was trapped in her car until Bedford fire crews could get her out.

She was then taken to Dunn Memorial Hospital for a blood draw and arrested for driving while intoxicated and crossing the centerline.

Bartlett was taken to Bedford Regional Medical Center for her injuries.
