Panthers' Coach Named National "Coach Of The Year"

(BLOOMINGTON) - It’s no surprise that Bloomington South Panthers’ coach J.R. Holmes is thought of as a fantastic basketball coach.
Holmes' team went undefeated for this season, taking the 4A state championship in front of thousands.
And nobody would be surprised of he won some sort of "Coach of the Year" award here in the Hoosier State. However, the recognition he just received even took him aback.
The newspaper USA Today, who, after taking the state win, named his panthers the #3 high school team in the nation, just named Holmes the USA Today Coach of the Year; the best coach in America.
The publication cited not only his record this year, and in years past, but also his method.
