Local Leaders Pitch Lawrence County At Chicago CAR Conference
(CHICAGO, IL) - Lawrence County’s two mayors along with top economic figures road tripped up to Chicago to attend a conference on the automotive industry.
Bedford Mayor Shawna Girgis, Mitchell Mayor Dan Terrell, Chamber President Adele Bowden-Purlee and Economic Growth Council Director and County Councilman Gene McCracken attended the annual conference for the Center for Automotive Research in the Windy City this past weekend.
While in town, county officials spent time meeting with business leaders informing them of the various economic development opportunities in Lawrence County, including the shovel-ready industrial park in Mitchell and the former Visteon plant, now the Eastgate Business and Technology Center, in Bedford.
