Guard Okay After Fight In Lawrence County Jail

(BEDFORD) - A guard at the Lawrence County jail suffered minor injuries but is otherwise okay after a fight at the Security Center.
Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig tells WBIW News an altercation started between an inmate and a guard Monday, and a call was put out for all available officers to help since it wasn't clear, at the time, how many inmates were involved.
County and city officers started heading for the jail, but then were told to hold off after it was found only one inmate was involved and jailers were able to get things under control.
One guard, whose name is being withheld, suffered minor injuries but was able to finish the rest of his shift and didn't require any medical attention.
