Columbus Officer Being Investigated For Accidental Shot Fired In Home

(COLUMBUS) - A Columbus police department officer is under investigation for accidentally firing his police-issued handgun at his home.
Authorities say Sgt. Mark Williams, a 16-year veteran of the force, was off duty Monday afternoon when the accident occurred.
No one was seriously injured, although Williams suffered some bruising from the incident.
An internal investigation is being performed while Williams serves a paid suspension.
