(SHOALS) - A Bedford man was injured in a fiery motorcycle accident in Martin County over the weekend.

State police in Jasper say 24-year-old Michael Bruner of Bedford was riding his Suzuki motorcycle on US-150 a little too quickly, causing him to miss a curve and lay the bike down.

When the bike hit the pavement, police say a fuel line was damaged catching the bike on fire.

Police and medical crews responded to the scene and took Bruner to Bloomington Hospital of Orange County for back and neck pain.

Fire crews had to put the bike out, but it was a total loss.

No one else was involved in the accident.
