(PAOLI) - A Bedford man is accused in the burglary of a Paoli home.

Jasper State Police Sgt. Chad Dick says 36-year-old Shawn Purdy of Bedford was found allegedly burglarizing a home near Paoli by the home's owner.

Dick says the woman ran Purdy out of the house and called police, but Purdy took off running, got into a vehicle, and sped away.

Eventually, police would find Purdy's vehicle in a wooded area with Purdy trying to hide the car underneath branches and brush, and took him into custody.

Purdy was taken to the Orange County jail charged with burglary, residential entry, theft and resisting arrest, all felonies.
