(PIKE COUNTY) - Two administrators from Pike Central High School in Pike County were arrested yesterday for failing to report child abuse or neglect.

The state police post in Evansville reports 61-year-old Pike Central High School Superintendent D. John Thomas and 46-year-old Pike Central High School Principal LeAnne Kelley are facing the Class-B misdemeanor charge.

The arrests stem from incidents regarding a 26-year-old teacher at the school, Luke Musselwhite.

Police allege Musselwhite sent hundreds of text messages to a 17-year-old student, some sexual in nature, and police charged him with one felony and one misdemeanor charge, and in August, Musselwhite allegedly struck another female student in the leg with a yardstick. He was arrested in January of this year.

Thomas and Kelley are both accused of knowing of the incidents and not reporting them.
