Passengers Identified In Fatal IN-46 Accident

(ELLETTSVILLE) - Updates have been issued on the fatal accident on IN-46 near Ellettsville from Wednesday afternoon.

The three passengers injured in the Asplundh truck have been identified as 25-year-old Sam Barnett of Martinsville, 22-year-old Wayne Harden of Solsberry, and 20-year-old Robert Mullis.

Mullis and Joseph Desmond III, the driver of the second vehicle, were flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Barnett and Harden were both transported to Bloomington Hospital.

The driver of the Asplundh truck, William Johnson of Freedom, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Johnson reportedly fell asleep at the wheel Wednesday afternoon, crossed the centerline, and struck Desmond's truck head on.
