17 Firefighters, 5 Trucks Needed To Put Out Burning Barn
(FAYETTEVILLE) - Seventeen firefighters and around 7,000 gallons of water were needed to put out a barn fire in Indian Creek Township Saturday evening.
Indian Creek Fire Chief Stanley Wright tells us crews were called out after 6:00pm Saturday and found a pole barn completely on fire.
A nearby trailer stacked with hay bales also caught, but only hay was lost without damage to the trailer.
The barn belonged to the sister of Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, who says there was livestock inside and some escaped on their own while others were evacuated with injuries.
No firefighters were injured in the blaze, though.
The Perry and Oolitic Volunteer Fire Departments helped out as well, with a total of 5 trucks and 17 men on scene.
