(MITCHELL) - Ice is reported to be the culprit in a rollover accident in Mitchell early this morning.

Mitchell police logs show an INDOT truck called police reporting a car sitting on its roof in the parking lot of the Backyard Burgers restaurant a little after 3:30 this morning.

Though Mitchell police haven't completed the final report yet, Mitchell Police Chief Steve Blair tells WBIW News the car apparently slid on ice on the IN-37 bridge, ran off the road, and rolled over into the parking lot landing on its top.

Blair didn't have identities to release yet, but says if there were injuries, they didn't appear significant since everybody was back at home by press time today.

The Bedford Fire Department's accident extraction team was also called in to assist, however, whether the occupants of the vehicle were trapped in is also, currently, unclear.
