Greene County Deputy Attacked By Dog While Serving Papers

(LYONS) - A Greene County Sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized Saturday after he was attacked by a dog while serving papers at a rural home in Lyons.
The Greene County Daily World reports Deputy John Fowler was taken to Greene County General Hospital after the dog bit his foot, breaking through his boot and breaking skin, and continued to attack.
The paper reports Fowler shot and killed the dog during the incident on CR600 West.
Fowler, at least, was not knocked down and mauled.
