(BLOOMINGTON) - Charges have been changed against an Ellettsville man accused of killing his girlfriend’s 23-month old son last month.

The Bloomington Herald Times reports 32-year-old Kyle Robinson of Ellettsville was originally charged with involuntary manslaughter, however, he now faces a charge of reckless homicide when he faces his initial court hearing tomorrow.

The paper reports Robinson told police he was tossing the child in the air in fun, but was unable to catch him before his head hit the ground.

Both charges are the same class of felony which carries a potential sentence between 2 and 8 years behind bars.
