Tire Spikes End Chase In Columbus, Driver Jailed In Brownstown
(BROWNSTOWN) - A police chase in Jackson County ended with shredded tires in Columbus early yesterday.
The Seymour Tribune reports 24-year-old Joshua Klossner of North Vernon drove off after police attempted to stop him in Jackson County, driving through a field and then onto US-31 toward Columbus.
Klossner made it all the way to the southeast side of Columbus when city police there deployed stop sticks, or strips of spikes intended to destroy the tires of a running vehicle. Klossner's vehicle stopped as a result near Gladstone and State in Columbus, and that's when police took him into custody.
The paper says Klossner faces charges of resisting arrest, driving while suspended with a prior, reckless driving and criminal mischief. His passenger, a 16-year-old female, faces a single resisting arrest charge.
Klossner was taken to the Jackson County jail.
