BPD Catches Two Teens Allegedly Stealing Copper
(BEDFORD) - Bedford police have two young men in custody for allegedly breaking into the AT&T garage late Sunday night.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley tells WBIW News they were called to the garage late Sunday night to a disturbance call, and say they found 18-year-old Cody Keefe of Bedford and a 17-year-old male pulling out in a car that matched a description given to them.
Police found a hacksaw and scrap wire in the vehicle, and, on the property, found a cut chain on a gate, and the same scrap wire in a dumpster. Both were preliminarily charged with theft, criminal trespass and criminal mischief.
Keefe was taken to the Lawrence County jail, the 17-year-old was released to his parents.
