(BEDFORD) - Bedford City Utilities will be conducting further smoke testing of sewer lines throughout the month of October.

Work crews will be working an area between 16th Street, Williams Boulevard, and R and O Streets between October 2nd and the 31st.

Bedford Utilities Director Misty Adams says this smoke should not enter your home unless you have faulty plumbing.

If the smoke enters your home, you should know it's odorless, non-toxic, but you should call Bedford Utilities, and not the police department, because the smoke means hazardous sewer gases are entering your home.

If you see this smoke, get out of your home, and call (812) 275-1626 during business hours or (812) 275-7173 after hours.
