State Police Jasper say officers were called to a home in Washington shortly after midnight this morning to a domestic call when they found 42-year-old Stephen Todd Lee in the back yard with a long gun.

Officers ordered Lee to drop the weapon, but he, instead, fired it off causing officers to return fire, shooting and killing Lee.

Lee's weapon turned out to be a black powder hunting rifle.
