(DUBOIS COUNTY) - State police in Jasper happened upon a chance find during a traffic stop on I-64 in Dubois County.

Troopers pulled over a Dodge Intrepid for speeding late yesterday morning with two men inside, one from West Virginia and one from Ohio.

The trooper had a feeling something besides speeding was going on after speaking with them, so he called in a K-9 officer, Justice, and when Justice checked out the vehicle, he alerted to the presence of narcotics.

Police then inspected the car and, while they didn't find any drugs, they did find more than $186,000 in cash in a hidden compartment of the trunk, which apparently had the odor of narcotics on it which set the dog off.

The money has since been seized and no charges have been filed, and an investigation is underway.
