(BEDFORD) - Around 2:30 yesterday afternoon, Bedford police got to the scene of an accident at Heltonville and Mt. Pleasant Roads where a vehicle took out a utility pole.

Emergency crews had to block Mt. Pleasant Road for several hours since the accident left live power lines strewn about the scene.

Power and phone service was interrupted in the immediate area, and power was also knocked out to the transmitter for our sister station SuperOldies 105.5 WQRK until around 9:30 last night.

Reports have not yet been released as to what caused the accident, however, officers on the scene yesterday afternoon advised the driver of the vehicle that took out the utility pole was not injured.

Phone lines were heavily damaged along several points, and may take some time to get back to 100%.

SuperOldies 105.5 WQRK is owned by Ad-Venture Media, Inc. who also owns 1340 WBIW and WBIW.com.
