Price Tag To Fix Camp Atterbury: $40 Million
(EDINBURGH) - The Army has assessed and put tornado damage at Camp Atterbury at $40 million dollars.
Major General Marty Umbarger says the Indiana National Guard has already received $10 million dollars from the Army for clean up and repairs. He says clean up from last month's tornado is all but complete and repairs have already begun.
He expects several buildings to be replaced.
As for the flooding, Umbarger says National Guard response would have been much more timely and beneficial had the new National Guard center in Johnson County been built.
