NSWC Crane To Get New Leadership
(CRANE) - The Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane is celebrating a change of command Friday, July 18th.
Capt. Charles S. LaSota will take command of the crane base during the 9:00am ceremony. LaSota will be taking over from current commanding officer, Capt. Mark Welsh, who has accepted a position as a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Rear Admiral Archer Macy and Indiana 8th District Democratic Congressman Brad Ellsworth will be addressing the crowd at the ceremony.
LaSota brings experience to crane including being the now former commanding officer of Strategic Weapons Facility, Pacific in Silverdale, Washington, overseeing a team that was responsible for some of the weapons systems aboard the navy's TRIDENT submarines as well as all security for Nuclear Security at Naval Base Kitsap.
