Kentucky Man Pulled Over, Arrested On Warrants
(JASPER) - A Kentucky man wanted in California was captured yesterday in Indiana.
State Police Jasper say they pulled over 37-year-old Daniel Zavala of Beaver Dam, Kentucky for a seatbelt violation on the south side of Jasper, and when troopers made contact, Zavala didn't have any identification on his person.
Zavala reportedly provided only verbal identification, and a subsequent records check on that information found that he was wanted on several felony charges in Butte County, California, about 85 miles straight north of the state capital of Sacramento, in North Central California.
Zavala was taken to the Dubois County Jail, where he is celebrating his birthday today, awaiting extradition to California to face charges of grand theft, forgery and identity misrepresentation.
